ACTA support continuing education and lifelong learning as part of the professional development of Travel Agents.
ACTA integrated an educational division (formerly CITC -Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors) to our Membership and we are now the Canadian Travel Industry source to complete the necessary criteria to achieve the professional designations of Canadian Travel Counsellor or Canadian Travel Manager (CTC and CTM)
The educational division of ACTA continues to endorse community colleges, private vocational schools and programs that offer full-time and distance learning opportunities to train for the occupation of Certified Travel Counsellor.
The criteria for ACTA’s endorsement of CTC programs includes:
- Course curriculum
- Performance of graduates in the workplace
- Instructor qualifications
- Student performance on the Knowledge Exam
- Length of time the program has been offered
